Oh! And look up over there on the right. I’m very excited to share with you a new statistic I collected this year. Would you believe that 22 songs out of 40 were based off of just one single loop only (loop variations allowed)? That’s more than half. You may now commence to argue over how uncreative music is these days, or over how Einstein really did prove that “less is more.”

Seeing that contrast between where she started to where she is now is just so incredible from a fan’s perspective because they know they’ve helped her make that journey.

There’s a ton of debate about whether they really do sound like the real thing. In my experience, amp simulators come extremely close, so much so that it does actually make sense to invest in one of these systems both for touring because of the convenience and ease of use. In the studio, though, where you’ll likely have several options available to you, it really comes down to taste and playability.

Outside of the basic major (Ionian) and minor (Aeolian) scale modes, the Dorian mode would be considered by many to be the most important diatonic mode in any improviser’s toolkit.

But there’s a number of ways that Diggers Factory distances itself from the classical crowdfunding model. Unlike these platforms, we don’t let people decide on the amount of their contribution. They pay for the record at the price set by the artist to cover the production costs and everyone will get the same reward: the record. However, fans can decide to make a donation when [they] buy the record in order to give extra support to the artist.

Whether it’s trying to land a coveted spot at a big summer festival or hoping to line up a solid run of shows for your next tour, the business of music booking is a murky venture for artists and venues alike for a plethora of reasons.

The violin was his passion, so much so that in 1797, he published a pamphlet on the changing style of violin-playing between the Baroque and Classical eras, called Metodo per Violino. He ended up composing a handful of notable works, but his “educational” pieces are definitely the most well-known and still studied today in conservatories. Campagnoli wrote 30 Preludes for violin in all 24 keys, 41 Caprices for solo viola, and other Divertissements.

In 12-TET, you don’t define your intervals by tidy ratios of whole numbers. Instead, you divide up the octave into twelve equally-sized semitones (the interval between two adjacent piano keys or guitar frets). You then add semitones together to make all the other intervals. To go up a semitone from any note, you multiply its frequency by the 12th root of two. To go down a semitone from any note, you divide its frequency by the 12th root of two. If you go up by an octave (12 semitones), you’re multiplying your frequency by the 12th root of two 12 times, which works out to two.

Print out some hard copies, go to the venue, and hang them up there (or ask the venue to do that for you). Your poster in a venue’s window maximizes your chances of reaching foot traffic and audiences from other shows. But if you’re already printing posters, why not put them up in local businesses and stores as well? And make sure to hang some up at local colleges, band rehearsal spaces, or anywhere else you think you’d find people interested in music.

Songwriting Pro is a blog written by a guy named Brent, a professional songwriter who’s lived through publishing deals, hits, and hard times, and this platform has become one of the best places to learn about all the things you might face down the road, with advice and tips on how keep yourself writing at all costs. There’s always a light at the end of that tunnel, Brent proves it.

This more complex view of phase interaction is more applicable to the real-world scenarios we encounter as musicians and producers. You might be struggling to record a drum kit with multiple mics and losing that precious oomph in the process. Your studio monitors could start sounding a bit odd, because each side is interfering destructively with the other while their sound travels through the air. You may find that a certain parallel processing hack or sample replacement makes your sound thinner rather than awesome-er.

From its first appearance as: (a.) the rhythmic motif is repeated (thus stated as an important element in the composition), then shifted on upbeats (0:57). From this fragment, a new development is presented (b.), the rests in (a.) are filled with notes. Subsequently, this fragment is transformed into (c.), showing the first instance of fragmentation. The first quarter note has now become an eighth note, the rhythm is chopped and tossed around the bar, to create a sense of urgency and disorientation in a way that is reminiscent of Stravinsky’s “Danse Des Adolescentes” in The Rite Of Spring.
